In my last entry, I failed to say that I work in Washington DC at a decor shop. Well today, just when I thought I'd seen it all, in comes this 40ish lady who wanted to see what phones we sell. She's taller than me, really thin and wearing a jacket and a head wrap of some sort. We aren't a big shop but we had 6 products to look at. She seemed nice enough until she started talking. "Where's the blond guy?" She said to me as I looked up from my magazine. I replied that there wasn't anybody here with that description. Once I said that, she began to look upset and murmured something (about me no doubt) under her breath. Mind you, I have never met this person (it) before today and tried to just be nice and help her. "Well he said that you had more phones than this." I asked if she was thinking about another store perhaps and she got so frustrated at me and asked if there was anyone else beside me to help her. So now, I'm ready to tell this crazy woman to get out but then she asked me to open the phones and show her/tell her/point out to her ALL the differences between them. No other customers have walked in to witness it so it was just her and I. "No no no these aren't what I'm looking for. Why don't you have the phones that the BLOND guy said you had!!?" Her tone really got to me and in my final note, I told here "Miss, you came in here looking for this guy who A, doesn't work here and B, told you we had phones that we have NEVER had so this is all I have and I'm sorry I'm not a blond!" She ranted some more and went off into the shop as I went back to my magazine. Then a minute later she bolted down the stairs and out. Thank goodness...but you know, what bothers me the most about crazy people is they don't think that there acting...well...crazy.
